Day Two…..

First off, I have to say a heartfelt gigantic thank you for the amazing outpouring of support for this project! I am amazed, humbled and very very grateful to everyone. It is so very motivating!

Speaking of motivation… today I went to the crispy cold movie theater to see “The Help” with my mom (because it’s the Death Valley Cal…Cincinnati) today, and even the smell of buttery fresh popcorn could not shake my determination! I proudly marched to my seat and pulled out my bag of grapes. That’s right read’em an weep popcorn wenches….you will not get my $5 for 1500 calories of nothing! Anyway…enjoyed spending time with my mom and it’s a great movie. I recommend it, I also recommend you take a box of tissues. Anybody know if you burn calories crying?

Today I was off from work, and wanted to keep busy so I walked this morning with Maggie and carried her when she decided she was done….about a 1/2 mile from the end. I figured it’s her contribution to add some weights to the walk. Breakfast was a 120 calorie yogurt, a medium banana and a fresh mango….and water, water, water…lunch was Oatmeal (with a few almonds and wheat germ and drizzle of honey) I have to get used to things not being so sweet. I am such a sugar whore…but just like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman I can un-whore myself! Dinner was really good. Sooo Trader Joe’s Nan….180 calories….used that for a pizza base, with 2 tbls of an organic, no sugar added tomato sauce, sauteed fresh veggies, spinach, mushroom, zucchini, in a drizzle of olive oil and then topped the pizza with 1/3 cup of part skim mozzarella baked it till it was gooey and a crispy crust. Pizza for under 400 calories. It tasted great, and I felt very full and satisfied. Not starving myself. I am going to live this year with three guidelines…

1.) Eat Less
2.) Eat Better
3.) Move More

It is about what I do 90% of the time and allow myself to enjoy the things I love once in awhile. (CAKE) Moderation, Determination and Sweat….. the ugly truth. I refuse to eat low fat, non fat, sugar free crap, “food” that is full of preservatives and chemicals your body has no idea what to do with…. and I refuse to take weight loss pills that come with a laundry list of side effects…yes we have all seen the commercials!

Tune in tomorrow for a story about me, my dyed green shorts and gym class. I promise it will be good.

I will be following your blog and I admire your determination! If I had half as much strength as you I would be in a much better position in life by now. Keep up the inspiration. 🙂 Amy
