Tonight I left my house at 8:30pm and went to the gym. I pulled into the parking lot and it looked very crowded to me, too crowded. ( you can do this) I wanted to talk myself out of it, I wanted to turn around (you will do this). One deep breath and I opened the car door, grabbed my stuff and walked in the front door. (you made it) I pushed the button to the second floor and prayed that the pool was empty, it wasn’t. (keep walking) I put my stuff in my locker and clicked the large padlock to secure my belongings as perfectly toned, athletic women walked past me (you are beautiful too) I kept walking, I opened the door to the pool,ย  there were people in there butย  I saw the stillness ofย  a free lane (just a few more steps) and I walked over to the bench and put my stuff down, I slipped off my shorts (hold your head up) and I walked into the pool tonight.

The one about swimming came flowing out of me like tapping a keg of beer! ๐Ÿ™‚ I saw crying as I reflected on the experience. I think I realized my inner voice is important to listen too, and I think for a long long time I got pretty good at not listening. ๐Ÿ™‚
