Day 9 (of 10)

There are those that cross your path in life that give, they give and they expect nothing in return. Their capacity to give is almost unreal, it is simply part of who they are. It is rare to find, and I am so glad my friend Cathy is in my life plain and simple.

The day was yet again a stress filled blog but I managed not to pay any attention to the birthday strawberry shortcake celebrating a co workers birthday. (Happy Birthday Aaren!) I ate what I brought and nothing more…

Breakfast

1/2 cup greek yogurt + 1/2 c granola

banana and two cups of coffee

Snack

String cheese

Lunch

a portion of veggie lasagna and a 150 calorie granola bar

Dinner

Nada restaurant

One + 1/2 sparkling sangria

sliced jiccama

1/3 cup guacamole –I ATE NO CHIPS…oh, and their chips are so good.

One mini slider (meat only)

Snack: 1 cup organic honey 0’s 1 cup vanilla mike.

Scott had my back when I received a second drink (my limit was one)…after  a few sips he gave me the look and then cut off sign as if to just say “STOP!” Made all the difference. He is so so good about knowing when a little tough love is needed and he is able to challenge my food choices when needed.  I feel good about the day. Every year Cathy takes our staff for a cocktail hour at a wonderful restaurant. This is something I am not willing to give up, the sharing of food, the laughter, the stories of Cathy’s life and the overwhelming love that she spreads that is simply infectious. She is worth a little splurge, and tomorrow morning I will find I am worth getting myself to the gym for a run and swim.

Happy 4th of July everyone! Stay safe, keep col and please pay extra attention to your sweet animals in this heat!
