I sit here tonight on Thanksgiving eve surrounded by three sweet dogs, their soft snores, and sweet faces snuggled in for the night and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be in their world.
There is so much I am thankful for in these moments of my life. The people who have stepped into my world over the years, those who are still here, those who have moved on, and those I miss terribly. They are all a part of me and have helped me to get to the place I stand today. When I think about the last year in particular, here are just a few of the things I am most thankful for…in no particular order.
1.) Running shoes, and the kind gal who sold me my very first pair with no judgement only kindness.
2.) Tristan’s surprise kisses in the morning when I am least expecting them.
3.) Having my mom healthy and happy, continuing the example she has always set of how to be kind to all.
4.) Brandi Carlil’s brilliance.
5.) Hope for what the future holds.
6.) All of those who continue to fight endlessly to save dogs and all animals from harm especially Carolyn, and my Recycled Doggies/Cincinnati Pet Food Pantry family.
7.) Hearing words like ” hey…get your feet up off the ground, ya lil slacker” said with a smile.
8.) The knowledge of just how important it is to have a good sports bra.
9.) Manuscripts and orange sticky notes.
10.) The woven basket that is made up of so many supportive hands that weave in and out of my life who carry me when I need it, and gently release me when I don’t.
Thank you all for giving me a voice by reading my words, showing me kindness, unconditional support as we walk down the road….well except today…today I rode down the road on a spontaneous 10 mile bike ride with my dear friend Jenny. Why? Because I can….and I am so, so very thankful for that!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
