The fly by…day nine.

I woke to rain this morning, gloomy and grey the kinda day that is meant for back porch reading and morning happy hours with a pot of coffee. That was surely not this morning. I came downstairs to find one of the cats had puked in the middle of the floor, and it suspiciously looked like there might have been more of it at one time then Tristan glanced over at me as if to say “What? It’s all there…mostly” licking his lips. I let all the dogs out back to do their business except the only one doing any business was me frantically making coffee and trying to unload the dish washer. The dogs were all standing on the porch looking in at me. Tristan was wet so he went out and did his business, Maggie had already peed on the far corner of the porch and Tully glared at me with Mr. Skunk in his mouth sending a clear message that he was not taking his life partner out in the rain but between you and me that is exactly what Mr. Skunk needs, he is a little stiff these days!

I raced around the house and got myself ready for work, dodged traffic, made it though the construction downtown which is more like a video game with each passing day. Into the office I went with my busted pink umbrella and soggy lunch that I happened to drop in a puddle on the way into the building. #$%@!

Not the best morning and it’s  a Monday, so perhaps it was the perfect morning.

Late morning I am working at my desk when one of my ticket sellers pops in  to say there is a delivery out front. “Oh, just send them to the second floor”, Evan looks at me and says “No, YOU have a delivery.” Ohhhh, I have a delivery. I have a deliver? I never have deliveries.  I did in fact have a delivery…. an amazingly thoughtful and kind delivery. A HEALTHY delivery with a very sweet note of encouragement for the week from my dear friends Shannon and Lillian! Immediately the crappy morning did not matter at all, everyone in my office shared in the bounty of the edible arrangement of fruit  that was sent!

And it came in a giant baseball!!!

Turned my attitude and day right around, and to be honest it really did taste better than that opera creme cake would have, I am pretty sure because it was send with such love and kindness. Thank you so much Shannon and Lillian, so very blessed to have you in my life. <3

On foot it’s like a crazy game of human “frogger” trying to get across the street. In a car it’s like a giant maze with orange cones and Do Not Enters at every turn.

It was such a lovely pick me up! We enjoyed the rest of the fruit this afternoon! You are the best! <3

I loved your description of downtown traffic being more like a video game every day.

Glad the delivery was something of a pickup, as it was intended to be.
